He clarified that mercy means that Man is doing good to others; indeed, mercy is a mainstay upon which the Islamic society rests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He pointed out that Ramadan is a month that its beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness and its end is surviving hell. Hence, we are much in need for mercy, as Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: &#8220;<em>He who is not merciful to people Allah will not be merciful to him<\/em>&#8220;; even Allah Almighty has prescribed mercy for himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He pointed out that the greatest outcome of practicing mercy is satisfying people&#8217;s needs; if people were merciful and cooperative to one another, there would not have been anyone homeless or&nbsp; in need. He concluded the lecture by praying to Allah Almighty to make us among the people of mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This lecture came within the activity carried out by <em>WOAG<\/em> branch in Libya to confront the extremist ideology and to spread the moderate thinking, peaceful coexistence as well as refuting the discourse of hatred and violence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WOAG branch in Libya, Zliten Office, organized a lecture under the title of &#8220;Mercy among People in Quran and Sunnah&#8221; during the holy month of Ramadan. This requires coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Azhari delegations. One of the ideas is the establishment of branches of the association in the countries where great numbers of al-Azhar alumni are found. Another suggestion is to invite some of the alumni scholars to attend conferences and symposiums organized by the Association. In addition, the association gives increasing attention to international students in Egypt by holding meetings to get acquainted with their problems and find the best ways to solve them. It also organizes seminars and conferences and provides students the opportunity to participate in cultural, social, and entertainment activities. The association is also studying a number of proposals to upgrade and support al-Azhar alumni in foreign countries. This is achieved through holding an annual celebration for distributing excellence awards for best graduates such as the best Master\\u2019s and Ph.D. and theses awards in the field of Islamic Sciences. This is done after an academic committee chooses among the best theses that obtained the degree of excellent with honors.
