The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Somalia delivered a lecture entitled “Islam is the religion of mercy” in the Capital City of Mogadishu. It is worth mentioning that this lecture is part of the role played by the Organization’s branch to confront extremist ideologies, correct misconceptions and spread the moderate thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shaykh Ibrahim Sayyed Aba Ali, one of Al-Azhar Graduates, highlighted that Islam calls for mercy and moderation. He denounced actions of extremist groups that include killing, violence and destruction. He stressed that Islam has nothing to do with these actions; it is a religion that brings about social justice and world peace everywhere and at all times. In addition, he warned the attendees against following extremist groups and adopting their destructive ideologies that contradict with tolerant Islamic teachings.
