Prof. Abdel Fattah al-Awary, Former Dean of Usul ad-Din Faculty, said that we must confront extremists and hardliners who ravaged the world and distorted the image of our religion through the discourse of hatred and violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, he asserted that Imams and preachers shoulder the responsibility of inoculating the next generation from the intrusive thoughts, as they are a bunch of good people and heirs of prophets whose duty is to call for Allah and guide all segments of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This came during proceedings of the workshop held at the headquarters of al-Azhar Graduates entitled “Role of Scholars, Imams, and Preachers in Strengthening Values of Peace and Upholding the Social Fabric in Libya”. The workshop was held on the sidelines of the events of the thirteenth training course for 45 Imams and preachers from Libya, held by al-Azhar Graduates in cooperation with Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the Former Dean of Usul Ad-Din Faculty said that today Imams are credited with Islamic Law, because their duty is noble, and their message is important. Al-Awary referred to the role of scholars and Imams in promoting values of peace inside the society since the weapon of the word is no less than the weapon of the soldier to preserve his homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of his speech, al-Awary mentioned that the world could achieve the intellectual security by refuting the extremist thoughts used by extremists and confronting them by several means, clarifying the danger of these groups which he described as (extremist and intellectual strangers) who seek to demolish the moderate approach.  On his part, Akram al-Gararry, President of the organization’s branch in Libya, explained that the extremist and terrorist groups are the reason for sedition and fragmentation among Libyan tribes. It is worth mentioning that he recommended, at the conclusion of his speech, that the Imams preserve the Libyan social fabric from the intellectual invasion aimed to divide the Libyan unity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
