WOAG branch in Somalia, Mogadishu Office, carried out a field visit to Helni primary and secondary school. This came within the awareness-raising activities carried out by the branch, according the instructions of the Grand Imam of al-Azhar and President of WOAG, in order to enhance the moderation of Islam inside the Somali society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Ibrahim Said Abu Ali, member of WOAG Somalia, and Sheikh Yasseen Ahmad Othman, member of WOAG Somalia and one of the participants of the training course to refute the extremist thinking convened in WOAG headquarters in Cairo, in cooperation with al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams, Preachers and Fatwa Researchers, both gave a lecture during the visit under the title of “The Dangers of Exaggeration in Religion<\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The lecture tackled defining what exaggeration in religion is, and its dangers on the individual and the society as a whole. The lecture highlighted how exaggeration could be a reason in changing the nation’s conditions from security, satisfaction and welfare to chaos, destruction and misery. The two lecturers warned the students, who are Somalia’s bright future, against recruitment within the extremist groups and adopting their deviant ideologies that only destruct the society. This field visit came within the activities carried out by the branch, targeting the youth in order to raise their awareness concerning the critical issues such as extremism and drugs.
