The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates organized a meeting with the officials of the Indonesia branch via video conference to develop a work strategy for the branch in the coming period to confront extremist ideology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof. al-Mahrasawy, Vice-Chairman of al-Azhar Graduates, pointed out the necessity of uniting al-Azhar Graduates to spread the moderate Azhari approach and confront exaggeration and extremism. Moreover, he stressed the importance of communicating with young people and creating young cadres to disseminate enlightening thought in light of the tremendous technological progress we currently experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Osama Yaseen, Vice-Chairman of the organization, said that we must complete the database of all Azharis to benefit from it and to implement the organization\u2019s objectives. He affirmed that we should benefit from Azhari graduates to combat the extremist ideology and seek the assistance of Azhari scholars such as Mohammad Quraish Shehab and Mohammad Zein al-Magd to be role models that work on strengthening the Azhari thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his part, Mokhles Hanafi, the Secretary-General of the organization\u2019s branch in Indonesia, reviewed the efforts of the branch as he said, the branch, in coordination with the headquarters in Cairo, has established 25 branch offices in various parts of Indonesia. These offices work in full coordination with civil society organizations in Indonesia, most notably the Muhammadiyah Society and Nahdlatul Ulama Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth mentioning that the branch receives the government’s full support as part of its medium-term development plan based on combating extremist thought and propagating moderation.
In conclusion, Hanafi noted that the organization\u2019s various publications will be translated, in coordination with the headquarters in Cairo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
