It is that great eternal edifice, and the long-standing mihrab, which is nearing its hundredth year after a thousand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the Grand Imam clarified in a post on his official page on the social media platforms Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), that the first Friday prayer was held at al-Azhar Mosque in the year 361H, affirming that since that date, al-Azhar has rightfully assumed its esteemed position; a beacon of culture, a source of knowledge for scholars, students, and researchers, and a destination for learners from all corners of the earth.
