If that sickness makes fasting unbearable or causes additional suffering, then breaking the fast is permissible until he\/she recovers; yet he\/she must make up for the missed days at any other time after Ramadan, as Allah Almighty says: \u201c<em>Whoever is ill or on a journey, then \u02f9let them fast\u02fa an equal number of days \u02f9after Ramadan<\/em>\u201d [Q:2:185]. However, if breaking the fast has no significant impact on improving one\u2019s health, then it shall be impermissible.
