In line with the mission of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates to strengthen ties between al-Azhar and its students, promote its moderate teachings, and foster a culture of dialog that rejects extremism and terrorism, the Organization’s branch in India organized an awareness lecture titled “Exaggeration in Religion.” The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Abdul Ahad al-Azhari, Secretary of the Organization’s Bihar branch and Professor of Hadith and Literature at the House of Wisdom, University of Rahmaniyah, Khanaqah Munjir, Bihar, India. Sheikh al-Azhari is also a member of the India branch of the Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Sheikh Abdul Ahad al-Azhari emphasized during the lecture that Islam is a moderation religion, free from excess and neglect. He stressed that Islam rejects extremism and exaggeration, embodying the values of peace, tolerance, and ease instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is noteworthy that the member of the Organization’s India branch explained that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was sent with a message of moderation, which he instilled in his companions. They embraced his teachings, enlightened the world, and won over hearts before conquering lands. Thus, the Prophet’s mission was one of bringing blessings to the believers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Abdul-Ahad called on Muslim youth to avoid the sources of exaggeration and extremism, encouraging them to embrace moderation and balance and to seek a proper understanding of religion from sincere scholars. He highlighted the responsibility of scholars to guide young people toward good values and protect them from the dangers of extremism.
