The “Peace and Humanity..Reality and Expectations” Program, held by the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, in cooperation with the Library of Alexandria, within al-Azhar Ambassadors Project, hosted a cultural seminar entitled: “Language and Human Peace”. The Lecture was led by Prof. Medhat Issa, Director of the Manuscript Center and Museum at the Library <\/a>of Alexandria. It featured the participation of many researchers, professors, and students from al-Azhar Graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Prof. Shaimaa al-Demerdash, Director of the “Heritage Revival” project, emphasized in her seminar presentation that language is more than just a means of communication. It serves as a window into the depths of the soul, a mirror reflecting the identity of nations, and a bridge connecting civilizations. She highlighted the crucial role language plays in fostering human peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Prof. Medhat Issa began his lecture by addressing peace both linguistically and terminologically, citing Imam al-Mawardi’s definition of peace: “It is a complete and universal security, which brings tranquility to souls, sharpens determination, provides comfort to the innocent, and reassures the weak. For the fearful, there is no rest, and for the cautious, no peace of mind.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that language is not merely a tool for communication but serves as the foundation of thought, culture, and awareness. It acts as a unifying force within society, shaping its ideas and cultural and civilizational identity. Additionally, language is fundamental to establishing channels of communication between Arab civilization and others through constructive dialog based on mutual respect, fostering a spirit of human peace that is valued by all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Issa concluded his lecture by exploring the various meanings of the word “peace” across different semantic fields, and its interpretation within Sufism, highlighting key concepts such as self-discipline, respect for all religions, forgiveness, and mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with a tour of the “Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage” Center, where attendees viewed the “Panorama of Heritage” exhibitions, showcasing Egypt’s history through the ages. They also visited the “Knights of Heaven” hall and the “Projects” hall, where they explored the interactive “Walls of Knowledge” application, as well as the “Cinematica” hall, which features 3D films.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
