Prof. Salama Dawood: Eloquence of Religious Discourse Requires Depth of Vision, Not Merely Boldness in Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Salama Dawood, President of al-Azhar University and Vice-President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, emphasized that addressing controversial issues in religious discourse requires conscious vision and a firmly established scholarly methodology. He pointed out that the current era is witnessing a state of \u201cfraud and deception,\u201d in which truth has become mixed with falsehood, and falsehood is often clothed in the garb of truth, and vice versa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was part of his lecture to Pakistani imams as part of the training course organized by the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, in cooperation with al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams, Preachers, and Fatwa Researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, he indicated that the one capable of exposing these falsehoods and distinguishing truth from falsehood is the qualified, competent preacher with deep vision, who possesses a coherent understanding and correct awareness of the objectives of Shariah and depth in Islamic vision. He also emphasized that the eloquence of religious discourse is not based on sensationalism or merely boldness in presentation, but rather on wisdom and insight and the proper application of rulings to reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He concluded his lecture by affirming that the true preacher combines depth of thought with soundness of methodology, skillfully addressing both minds and hearts simultaneously, in a way that preserves the constants of religion and confronts doubts with awareness and knowledge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
