Al-Azhar al-Sharif pavilion at the 57th<\/sup> Cairo International Book Fair organized distinguished cultural events and presentations on Saturday titled “Eighty Years of Wisdom<\/em>” as part of highlighting the value of scientific and national icons, and introducing the biography of His Eminence, Prof. Dr. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar al-Sharif. The events covered His Eminence\u2019s academic and intellectual journey, his Azharite upbringing, and his humanitarian stances supporting the weak and oppressed, foremost among them his steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events featured diverse cultural and expressive presentations performed by male and female students from al-Azhar institutes, alongside children from al-Azhar kindergartens. The presentations addressed prominent milestones from the Grand Imam’s life, his role in establishing the values of moderation and balance, human fraternity and defending the nation’s causes, and promoting the culture of dialogue and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students impressed the book fair\u2019s audience by presenting their performances in both Arabic and English, in interactive scenes that reflected the distinguished educational and cultural level of al-Azhar students and their ability to express the humanitarian and intellectual values represented by the Grand Imam in a modern language that speaks to the world and reflects the universal nature of al-Azhar message. This comes within the framework of al-Azhar’s commitment to connecting new generations with its scientific and intellectual icons, enhancing the belonging to al-Azhar institution, and highlighting its pioneering role in spreading the values of tolerance and justice, and defending issues of truth and humanity at both local and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-Azhar al-Sharif is participating for the tenth consecutive year with a special pavilion at the 57th<\/sup> Cairo International Book Fair, stemming from al-Azhar’s educational, advocacy, and enlightenment responsibility in spreading moderate, enlightened Islamic thought that it has adopted for more than a thousand years. Al-Azhar pavilion at the fair is located in Heritage Hall No. 4 and extends over an area of approximately one thousand square meters, including several sections such as a lecture hall, a fatwa corner, an Arabic calligraphy corner, as well as a children’s corner and manuscripts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
