Al-Azhar ash-Sharif issued a strongly worded condemnation of the continued closure of the Blessed al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist occupation forces. In a statement published across its official social media platforms, al-Azhar declared, “The ongoing closure of al-Aqsa Mosque\u2014the first Qibla and the third of the two Holy Mosques\u2014throughout Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and up to the present day is an immoral and unacceptable assault. It constitutes a confiscation of the Palestinian people’s right to worship, a provocation to Muslim sentiments worldwide, and a flagrant violation of international law.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al-Azhar calls upon the international community to confront these systematic acts of aggression, through which the occupation seeks to turn the region into a perpetual arena of war and conflict. It reaffirms that the Blessed al-Aqsa Mosque is, and shall remain\u2014Allah willing\u2014a purely Islamic sanctuary over which the occupying power has no claim.
