The meeting aimed at exploring ways to promote al-Azhar&#8217;s academic and dawah support for the people of the Comoros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Grand Imam affirmed al-Azhar&#8217;s pride in its historic ties with the Union of the Comoros. He noted that Comoran students have played an important role in consolidating and strengthening these relations. He explained that al-Azhar allocates 40 annual scholarships for Comoran students across various fields of study. Besides, 735 male and female students from the Comoros are currently enrolled at al-Azhar. He also confirmed al-Azhar&#8217;s readiness to increase the number of scholarships to meet the needs of this Muslim nation and align with its educational as well as dawah requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For his part, the Comoran Foreign Minister expressed his great pleasure at meeting the Grand Imam. He conveyed his country&#8217;s deep appreciation for the role of His Eminence and al-Azhar in serving the causes of the Islamic world and supporting Muslims globally, particularly across the African continent. He also requested an increase in the number of Azhari scholarships allocated to Comoran students, stressing that enrollment at al-Azhar is a dream and a great honor for his compatriots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this regard, he stated, \u201cI am a graduate of al-Azhar ash-Sharif. I enrolled at al-Azhar from the preparatory stage until I graduated from the Faculty of Languages and Translation. Today, I have come to your Eminence leading a full official delegation composed entirely of al-Azhar graduates from the Union of the Comoros. We come in appreciation of al-Azhar&#8217;s great favor upon us and in pride of what we learned at the hands of its distinguished scholars. Al-Azhar graduates hold great stance in our society and occupy numerous leadership and diplomatic positions throughout the Comoros.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official delegation accompanying the Comoran Foreign Minister included several Azhari graduates: Ambassador Ataa Afandi, Ambassador of the Union of the Comoros to Cairo and a graduate of the Faculty of Islamic Theology at al-Azhar University.
