
Sheikh Akram al-Garary, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates’ branch in Libya, inaugurated a new office for the Organization in Zliten in the corner of Sheikh Abdel Salam al-Asmar, may Allah rest his soul. This came as part of broadening the activities of the branch out of concern for propagating the moderate approach, correcting misconceptions, and confronting the extremist thoughts.
On the margin of the inauguration, the President of the branch met the Head of Zliten office, Sheikh Ali Ahmad Ashmela, some other Sheikhs, some students, Quran teachers, and members of the Organization to develop a comprehensive action plan in the next phase as regards the training courses and workshops that concentrate on denouncing extremist thought and propagating moderation. It is worth mentioning that the attendees thanked the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates for their continued support and connecting al-Azhar with scholars in Libya. Furthermore, the attendees praised the role of al-Azhar and the Organization for their role in confronting the misconceptions, spreading the true Islam, and bringing about cooperation between al-Azhar and the Organization in training the Imams, preachers, teachers, and students of the Holy Quran.
