WOAG branch in Somalia organized a lecture under the title of “The Danger of Recruiting Children and How to Avoid It“, attended by primary and middle schools’ students, at al-Salam Mosque in Egag city, Somalia. Such lecture aimed to protect the youth and children against the extremist ideologies as well as supporting them with al-Azhar moderate approach that denounces extremism and intolerance.
Sheikh Mahmoud Ahmad Abdi al-Azhar, member of WOAG branch in Somalia, said that using children as human shields to kill the innocents is a vile exploitation that the heavenly and even secular laws denounce. He pointed out that those perpetrators are more like mafia, illustrating that Islam renounces such actions that demean Man’s dignity and his/her rights in life. He stressed that Islam has come to liberate Man from the grip of slavery, ignorance, injustice and assaulting his soul, property and honor; indeed, Islam has elevated the human dignity.
