WOAG India Organizes a Lecture on “The Youth and Their Social Role to Spread the Moderate Thinking”

WOAG branch in India organized a lecture under the title of “The Youth and Their Social Role to Spread the Moderate Thinking and Good Manners”. This comes within the activities carried out by the branch to confront the extremist thinking, correct the misconceptions and spread the moderate way of thinking.

Dr. Seraj al-Huda al-Azhari, member of WOAG branch in India, pointed out that Islam gives a due care to youth, either males or females, as they represent an impetus for society. He added that building societies depends on youth on the first place, as Islam urges youth to invest their energies in what benefits people and society, by hard work, construction and exploiting their abilities and potentialities in that. In the same vein, Dr. Seraj highlighted that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) paid great attention to the youth, as he sought their advice and accepted their opinions, as happened in the battle of Uhud. Such stance clarifies how Islam respects the youth and their role as well as the necessity of supporting them with the spirit of enthusiasm and cooperation, as they are the basis for change and development. Dr. Seraj urged the scholars to take care of the youth, to give them the due intellectual care, protect them against the extremist ideologies and trends, and raise them on moderation and good manners, so that they won’t be recruited within the extremist groups.
