WOAG branch in India convened a lecture under the title of “Raising the New Generation According to Sound Religious Bases“. This lecture came within the activities carried out by the Organization and its branches abroad to fight the extremist ideology, correct the misconceptions and spread moderation.
During the lecture, Dr. Mohammad Shehab al-Din al-Azhari, WOAG India Secretary General, highlighted that raising the awareness of the new generation and providing them with the Quranic knowledge is a necessity to save them from the grips of apostasy and extremism. He stressed that the new generation is in dear need for guidance, supporting them with the true Islamic teachings and tolerant values to protect them from recruitment within the terrorist groups. He added that ignorance and illiteracy definitely lead to violence and extremism. He warned the youth from believing the false claims of these vicious groups and called upon them to adopt al-Azhar moderate approach.
The participants expressed their admiration for the lecture’s topic and demanded more of these awareness lectures to benefit from al-Azhar moderate approach.
