Shaykh Faisal Al-Amoudy, Secretary General of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates in Kenya, under construction, paid a visit to Unguja in Tanzania and delivered a lecture, in attendance of Mufti of Zanzibar, entitled “Importance of giving due care to Youth and Shielding them against extremist ideologies”. The lecture also tackled refuting extremist thought and anchoring moderation. He affirmed that moderation is the straight path that scholars and preachers should focus on because abiding by moderation in various aspects of life protects from extremism.
In addition, he pointed to the fact that youth are the cornerstone of any nation. Thus, they should be well brought up learning ethics and national affiliation. He stressed the role of scholars in shielding youth with moderate thought and the role of the family in raising their awareness of hazards of extremism, relating reality with society problem, discussing current issues in their society as well as anchoring values of moderation in all aspects of life.
