Al-Azhar Graduates in Chad: Conditions that Lead Youth to Migration Should Be Reviewed

The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in chad delivered a lecture entitled “Fleeing Homelands and Joining Extremist Groups” in N’Djamena. It is worth mentioning that this lecture is part of the role played by the Organization and its foreign branches to confront extremist ideologies, correct misconceptions and spread the moderate thought.

Mr. Mokhtar Hamed, member of the Organization Branch, pointed that some extremist groups manipulate youth and urge them to flee their homelands for the sake of Jihad. He affirmed that these calls are illegal and that groups have nothing to do with religion. In addition, he called for the necessity of confronting extremist ideologies and correcting misconceptions about migration. He also highlighted that many Islamic countries suffer from the phenomenon of youth joining extremist groups. Thus, conditions that lead Youth to migration should be reviewed and a suitable environment should be provided for continuous community dialogue.
