The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch of Indonesia held a lecture entitled: “Quran position on climate change“ in al-Istqlal Mosque. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Mokhles Hanafi, Secretary-General of the branch. He asserted the importance of the participation of scholars and clerics in saving humanity from the danger of climate change. Furthermore, he added that Allah entrusted Prophets to warn their people against corruption on earth after reform. It was stated in the Holy Quran that some people would corrupt on earth, and Allah will make them suffer from calamities in souls, money, and sustenance, for what they did, perhaps they will learn. It is worth mentioning that he clarified that Allah entrusted humans with the earth and urge him not to damage it.
