Prof. Mohammed Al-Mahrasawy, Vice-Chairman of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates and Member of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, takes part in the “Promoting Human Fraternity through Empowering Youth” Conference hosted by Georgetown University in partnership with the Muslim Council of Elders.
The one-day conference aims at giving voice to youth around the world by bringing 75 diverse students together to address how to manage difference and build the culture of human fraternity in various communities. The conference also aims at addressing how to network such efforts globally through the creative use of digital technology.
In addition, the conference will bring together undergraduates and graduates from Washington DC as well as students from countries of Muslim majority to discuss how to build on the joint Declaration on Human Fraternity signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad Mohammad At-Tayyeb. The conference will witness the participation of prominent religious leaders and high-level officials. Students will give presentations on developing concrete proposals for change that might be implemented across universities worldwide.
