The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates (WOAG) branch in Somalia released a statement, in which it condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a Somali army camp in Mogadishu, where several soldiers got killed and another eighteen people were wounded. The attack was adopted by al-Shabaab, al-Qaida-linked terrorist group.
The statement mentioned that the Islamic Shari’ah prohibited killing the innocents, as Allah Almighty says: “do not slay the soul [whose life] Allah has made inviolable, except with due cause”. [Q:17:33] Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) also said in such concern: “avoid the seven destructive things.” It was asked: (by those present): “What are they, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “Associating anyone or anything with Allah in worship; practicing sorcery, killing of someone without a just cause whom Allah has forbidden”.
The statement added that Allah Almighty prohibited assaulting public properties and buildings, which is considered as corruption on earth, and Allah Almighty does not favor corruptors.
WOAG branch in Somalia stressed, in its statement, the necessity of alignment against terrorism, in order to save humanity from this criminality. The branch underlined as well that terrorism is a fatal plague that should be confronted, and that killing and terrifying the innocents have never been mentioned in the teachings of any religion ever.
