The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates honored Belal as-Sanhoury, a student of Quranic Readings & Disciplines Faculty in Tanta and the winner of the King Abdulaziz Competition for the Holy Quran in Saudi Arabia.
It is worth mentioning that Prof. al-Mahrasawy, Vice-Chairman of al-Azhar Graduates, commended the high level of Belal in memorizing the Holy Quran. Furthermore, by honoring him, the Azhari luminaries are highlighted as examples to be followed by every learner. Prof. al-Mahrasawy asserted in his speech that Belal’s participation and success in an international competition elevate the status of Egypt and al-Azhar in leading the international competitions for examining the Holy Quran.
He clarified that they celebrate through this honor the efforts of those in charge of the Quranic Readings & Disciplines Faculty at al-Azhar University since it has a long and rich history. Moreover, it is the first Faculty accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Education. Now, it is in the process of renewing its accreditation. However, it is an honor to bear the trust of teaching and examining the Holy Quran.
Besides, Prof. Abdul Dayyem Nosseir congratulated Belal and praised his parents’ role in resolving difficulties in his academic journey, which enabled him to memorize the Holy Quran at the hand of his sheikhs and master the recitation of ten modes. Prof. Nosseir wished him continued success and steadfastness.
Prof. Samy Helal, the former Dean of the Quranic Readings & Disciplines Faculty in Tanta, said that al-Azhar is the destination of knowledge and seeks to spread the moderation of Islam; it is proceeding steadily on the path of strengthening its tolerant approach.
In addition, the Quranic Readings & Disciplines Faculty in Tanta seeks to lead the project of graduating one hundred licensed of the ten readings every year to master teaching of the Holy Quran at al-Azhar in all governorates. Also, Prof. Helal hopes to succeed in communicating with the competent authorities for nominating the faculty students for international competitions.
Prof. Abdul Fattah Khodeir, the Dean of the Quranic Readings & Disciplines Faculty, stated that this celebration aims to teach the Holy Quran to the world with its readings.
Finally, the student Belal thanked the Organization for this kind gesture, his professors for their efforts, and his helpful parents.
