Al-Azhar Graduates in Benin Holds a Lecture on Womens Role in Spreading Islam

As part of the international campaign that the headquarters of al-Azhar Graduates launched, entitled “Azharis Against Extremism”, the Organization’s branch in Benin held a lecture entitled “Women’s Role in Spreading Islam” attended by some women.

During the lecture, the preacher/ Abdul Samea Kolawly, a member of Benin’s branch, clarified the status of women in Islam and their role in the field of knowledge and strengthening true Islam. Furthermore, he gave an example of Khadijah (May Allah be pleased with her) and what she did to serve Islam, as well as Ayesha’s role (May Allah be pleased with her), as Companions used to refer to her with regard to some issues related to women. Besides, he set another example of Asma bint Abi Bakr and her role in preaching. Moreover, Kolawly urged the participants to serve Islam by bringing up a literate moderate generation; so that peace and good would prevail. Finally, he called for denouncing extremist thoughts to confront the destructive ideas.
