The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Qardho of Somalia delivered a lecture entitled “Anchoring Principles of Tolerance and Peaceful Education in Societies” at Al-Ghazali Institute in Galkayo City, which was attended by a large number of primary, preparatory and secondary students. It is worth mentioning that this lecture is part of the campaign launched by the Organization’s head branch entitled “Azharis against Extremism”.
During the lecture, Basheer Moalem Saeed, Member of the Branch, shed light on principles that promote tolerance, human dignity and accepting the other, such as freedom of belief, tolerance, equality, cooperation and peaceful coexistence regardless of religious or ethnical backgrounds. He also pointed to the fact that Islam anchored the principle of coexistence among all factions while promoting other values of justice, equality, cooperation and peaceful coexistence, which is an integral part of stability in societies.
