Al-Azhar Graduates in Bangladesh: Islam Calls for Moderation and Straying off Extremism

The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Bangladesh held a seminar on Sirah (life) of Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) in the capital city of Dhaka, which was attended by Shaykh Sofi Meizan Al-Rahman, President of the Branch, Prof. Abdullah Marouf, Vice-President of the Branch, and Dr. Seif Al-Islam Khan, Member of the Branch and Professor at Dhaka University.

During the seminar, Shaykh Sofi pointed to the significance of following the footsteps of Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) in all our daily life aspects in order to be blessed with security and stability. He highlighted the fact that Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) is the messenger of justice and mercy and that Islam is the religion of tolerance and love, which calls for moderation and straying off extremism. In addition, he stressed that following the model of Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) produces a fruitful peaceful society capable of facing contemporary challenges that include extremist ideologies that seek destruction of societies and disseminating misconceptions and fitnah.

It is worth mentioning that a number of members of the branch and Al-Azhar graduates attended the seminar and called for holding more seminars that benefit societies and shed light on tolerant teachings of Islam.
