Al-Azhar Graduates in Thailand: Islam Calls for Peaceful Coexistence with Non-Muslims

The World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Thailand held a seminar entitled “Islam calls for peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims and confronting extremist thought”. The seminar was attended by Board of directors of Masjid Dar Al-Abada as well as Quran and religious sciences teachers at Fard Al-Aeen schools.

Shaykh/ Ashari Mohamed Omar Al-Azhari, Orator at Masjid Dar Al-Abada in Bangkok, highlighted the significance of spreading moderate thought that Muslims need to become part of their culture while dealing with people with various faiths and cultures in Thailand, in order for social peace to prevail. He also pointed to the hazards of terrorism and extremism represented in destruction of societies and nations that are the source of security and safety after Allah Almighty. In addition, he stressed that repercussions of terrorism are not limited to killing, theft and rape, but they also include terrorizing people which is considered a grave sin.

Moreover, attendees commended this seminar as it shed light on understanding religion as well as Islam’s tolerance and mercy. It is worth mentioning that this seminar will be held in other places in Thailand in order for moderation to spread in Bangkok.
