WOAG branch in Nigeria held a seminar under the title of “The Approach of Moderation in Islam”, in al-Masjid al-Jamie of Sidna al-Ghouni Idris, in Jere area, Borno state, Nigeria, with the participation of 200 people.
Sheikh Ali al-Ghouni, head of WOAG branch in Nigeria, highlighted the necessity of understanding the meaning of moderation in language and Shari’a. He stressed that the Islamic Shari’a is based upon facilitation not complication, where it seeks to ease things for people and not to spread intolerance and extremism. He added that Islam prohibits exaggeration in belief, worships and dealings. Sheikh Ali al-Ghouni urged the youth to re-apply the moderate approach in all aspects of belief, worships and dealings, since it is the only way to leave strictness and intolerance and to stay away from extremism and terrorism.
