The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Bangladesh organized a lecture after the Friday prayer entitled “The Love of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), for the Prophet’s Household (PBUH)” at the Mezan al-Salam Mosque in the capital, Chittagong.
Noteworthy, Sheikh Afeef al-Gilani, the leader of the Qadiriyya Sufi order in Baghdad, pointed out that the correct belief is the belief of moderation between exaggeration and negligence, extremism and deficiency, in all matters of faith. This includes their belief in the family of the Prophet (PBUH). They support every Muslim, male and female, from the descendants of Abd al-Muttalib, as well as the wives of the Prophet (PBUH), all equally. They love and praise them, granting them their deserved positions with justice and fairness, not driven by bias or arbitrariness.
Furthermore, they acknowledge the virtues of those Allah has honored with the nobility of faith and noble lineage. Those who belong to the Prophet’s family among his companions are loved for their faith, piety, companionship with the Prophet (PBUH), and their closeness to him. One of the indications of this distinguished status is the statement of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): “I swear by Him in whose hand my soul is, the kinship with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), is dearer to me than my own kinship.” Moreover, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Show reverence to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) by honoring the members of his family.”
