An official reception was held to receive Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, upon his arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
His Eminence’s visit to Malaysia came in response to the invitation of the Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. This visit marks the start of His Eminence’s Southeast Asia tour which includes Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
