During Malaysia’s Mufti Visit to the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates, Prof. Shouman: Al-Azhar Graduates is Important Tributary Supporting Al-Azhar’s Global Role

Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates and Secretary General of al-Azhar Council of Senior Scholars, along with Mr. Wael Bekhit, Vice-President of the Organization, received the Federal Territories Mufti of Malaysia and Member of the Shura Council of the Organization’s Branch in Malaysia, Prof. Luqman Abdullah, and his accompanying delegation, at the Organization’s headquarters. Shouman said that al-Azhar ash-Sharif gives special importance to Malaysia. It always seeks to continue its efforts and cooperation with all Malaysian leaders to support its international students at al-Azhar University in all academic, religious, and cultural fields so that they become role models and ambassadors for Al-Azhar in their countries, portraying the true image of Islam.
Moreover, he stressed that the Organization embraces all international students from all countries of the world, especially Malaysia, considering that the Organization is one of al-Azhar ash-Sharif’s tributaries. It is also one of its soldiers serving its supreme mission, which is to unite Azharis and provide them with assistance through cultural activities, and training courses held for imams, preachers, and fatwa researchers in Islamic sciences and fatwa training. The Organization also provides distance education and special courses for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. This is in addition to constant communication with coordinators of the Organization’s offices and branches to discuss ways of cooperation between these offices and the Organization’s headquarters in Cairo, in order to develop the performance of Azharis at all scientific, practical, and cultural levels.
For his part, Prof. Luqman Abdullah said that al-Azhar Ash-Sharif holds a high position in the hearts of the people of Islamic countries, as it is the qibla of enlightened knowledge for all its students in the East and West, due to its distinction in empowering the people in the Islamic world with the moderate approach of Islam.
