Shouman Receives President of Organization’s Branch in Indonesia

Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates and Secretary-General of al-Azhar Council of Senior Scholars received Prof. Mohammad Zein al-Majd, President of the Organization’s Branch in Indonesia, Prof. Mokhles Hanafy, Secretary-General of the Branch and a number of Branch members.

Shouman said that al-Azhar is doing well with its loyal graduates and is working to serve all humanity. He stated that it is our duty to support Azharis everywhere, especially in Indonesia. He extended his thanks to those in charge of the branch for their efforts in serving Azharis and spreading moderate thought. In this regard, he emphasized that al-Azhar relies heavily on them and their peers from other countries to be ambassadors of al-Azhar’s moderate approach in their countries and to contribute strongly to promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence in the world.

For his part, Prof. Mohammad Zein al-Majd affirmed: “In Indonesia, we strive to fulfill the trust we have taken upon ourselves, based on the directives of His Eminence the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, to spread moderation. We work hard to serve al-Azhar graduates in Indonesia through the branch and its offices spread across different provinces and in coordination with the headquarters in Cairo.”
