Prof. Shouman: Students of Knowledge are the key Pillars of Countries’ Growth
Dr. Noor Ahmad: The Organization Gathers Azharis under One Umbrella
Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates and Secretary-General of al-Azhar Council of Senior Scholars, said that the Indonesian National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) acts as a beacon of community service in Indonesia. He added that the support BAZNAS provides for the students of knowledge, as the key pillar in the growth of their communities and countries, is remarkable, significant, and greatly rewarded by Allah Almighty. His Eminence stressed that the consequences of providing education are ongoing and are not limited to the first line of learners, however, they extend to consecutive generations; hence, upholding education is one of the key obligations we should bear nowadays.
This came during the receiving of Dr. Noor Ahmad, Head of the Indonesian National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), and his delegation, by the Organization’s officials. The meeting tackled ways of cooperation between the Organization and BAZNAS in supporting the Indonesian international students studying at al-Azhar ash-Sharif.
On his part, Dr. Noor Ahmad, Head of BAZNAS, expressed his gratitude for having this fruitful meeting at the Organization’s headquarters. He pointed out that the Organization is seen by Indonesians and the whole Islamic world as one of the fundamental tributaries of al-Azhar ash-Sharif that gathers all Azharis under one umbrella. He highlighted that BAZNAS is ready to harness all its capabilities to support the students in joining al-Azhar University, as well as implementing training programs in cooperation with the Organization. He underscored that the aim of such cooperation is to foster the students’ skills with al-Azhar moderate approach, boosting their cultural and literary levels, to qualify them to develop their society.
