Member of al-Azhar Graduates in Central Africa: Science is the Fundament for Nations’ Development and Progress

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates’ branch in Central African Republic held a lecture under the title of: “The Importance of Science for the Individual and Society”. The lecture took place in al-‘Ateeq mosque in Bangui city, with the presence of 30 attendees. The lecture was given by Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Danglash, member of the branch.

The lecturer underlined that Allah Almighty has distinguished human beings with intellect to cultivate the earth; indeed, Islam urges mankind to seek learning and obtain knowledge, as science is the first and foremost fundament for nations’ progress and welfare. He added that science is the resolution for all challenges that encounter humanity, as it has a significant impact over societies. He highlighted that science contributes in attaining equality, reducing social disparities and making all educational opportunities available for all without any discriminations based on origins or races.

Further, the lecturer pointed out that science contributes in societies’ progress and welfare, helps in reducing the conflicts emerging due to ignorance, achieving social security, increasing the citizens’ knowledge concerning their social rights and duties, enhancing citizenship values and raising the awareness of the whole society.

Moreover, the lecturer stressed the role played by science in lowering rates of unemployment, where everybody will have the opportunity to get proper occupations which will improve the quality of life of the individual.

In the same context, the lecturer highlighted the importance of providing children with education on an equal footing, as education is one of the ways for attaining progress and welfare; indeed, without education, we have no future.
