“Tolerance of Islam”, Seminar for Al-Azhar Graduates Branch in Benin

The Benin branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates organized an awareness campaign aligned with al-Azhar ash-Sharif’s mission to promote moderation and balance. The “Azhari Flashes” campaign featured a reading from al-Qawl at-Tayyeb, a book authored by His Eminence Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar. As part of the initiative, the branch hosted a seminar titled “The Tolerance of Islam” in Cotonou, which 70 participants attended.

During the seminar, Yahia Nazir, Secretary General of the Branch, elaborated on Islam’s tolerance, emphasizing its embodiment in ease of interaction and balance between rigidity and leniency. He underscored the importance of adhering to the principles of the tolerant faith, which promotes mercy and moderation among Muslims and in interactions with followers of other religions. Nazir highlighted the necessity of accepting others regardless of their color, gender, or religion, affirming that Islam is a religion of mercy, advocating for moderation, and rejecting extremism.
