Al-Azhar Graduates in Pakistan Organizes Seminar on “Danger of Takfir” as Part of “Azhari Flashes” Campaign

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch in Pakistan organized a lecture entitled “Danger of Takfir” within the framework of the Organization’s campaign entitled “Azhari Flashes,” featuring a reading from Al-Qawl At-Tayyeb, a book by His Eminence Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar. It is worth noting that Prof. Azir Mahmoud al-Azhari, President of the Branch and member of the Pakistani Islamic Intellectual Council, presented this lecture as part of al-Azhar’s approach to spread moderation and tolerance.

Al-Azhari pointed out in his lecture that Islam prohibits takfir and all types of crimes, clarifying that the crimes of extremist groups distort Islam and its tolerant Sharia. These groups carry out destructive operations with cries of praise and glorification, claiming jihad and martyrdom in the name of Allah — all of which are lies. This was exploited by Western media to distort the image of Islam and Muslims, presenting our noble religion as a barbaric faith thirsty for shedding blood and killing innocents.

A large number of scholars, professors, and lecturers attended the lecture. They benefited from the explanations drawn from Al-Qawl At-Tayyeb, and were keen to support and document this excellent book, which is adorned with moderate thinking. They also resolved to work together through their masjids and institutions to spread this great book and its moderate message throughout Pakistan.
