The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates Branch in India delivered a lecture entitled ‘The Importance of Moderation in Life’ at Darbhangka Mosque in Bihar state.
Prof. Mohammad Shehab ad-Din al-Azhari, the Branch’s Secretary General and Head of Rahmaniya School in Darbhangka, Bihar, delivered the lecture. He emphasized that Islam is distinctively characterized by moderation among all religions and beliefs, with its approach fundamentally based on this quality in all its domains. Moderation has been its cornerstone since Allah sent prophets with the true religion, from Prophet Nuh to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
In addition, he clarified that true Muslims are a moderate nation, and moderation for Muslims represents the straight path, which undoubtedly signifies guidance and goodness. Islam calls for moderation in obligations and rulings, based on authentic religious texts that require no interpretation or elaboration. He also explained that the approach brought by the Holy Quran to human life is founded on moderation in everything it calls for. This is the just governance that, if people adhere to it, will lead them to happiness in this world and the hereafter.
