Signing a Cooperation Protocol between Al-Azhar Graduates and Egypt’s Dar Al-Iftaa

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates witnessed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa. This reaffirmed the Organization’s global role and its commitment to a moderate approach, as an institution that unites thousands of Azhari graduates and strengthens ties with them. The Organization was represented by Prof. Abbas Shouman, its President and Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars of al-Azhar. Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa was represented by Prof. Nazir Mohammad Ayyad, the Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, and a member of the Organization’s Board of Directors.

Notably, the memorandum of understanding was signed following both parties’ shared objectives and directions. It aimed to enhance cooperation and coordination, thereby fostering stronger collaboration and supporting joint efforts.

It is worth noting that the signing of the memorandum of cooperation took place on the sidelines of the Board of Directors meeting of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, chaired by Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the Organization and Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars. The event was attended by Prof. Mohammad ad-Duwini, Deputy of al-Azhar; Prof. Salama Dawood, President of al-Azhar University and Vice-President of the Organization; Prof. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt; Mr. Wael Bekhit, Vice-President of the Organization; Prof. Abdul Dayyem Nusseir, Advisor to His Eminence the Grand Imam and Secretary-General of the Organization; Prof. Ibrahim al-Hudhud, former President of al-Azhar University and Academic Advisor of the Organization; and Prof. Osama al-Abd, Head of the Religious Affairs Committee at the House of Representatives.
