Egypt is the Country of the Holy Quran.. from which the Giants of Recitation Emerged to the Whole World
Prof. Abbas Shouman, President of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates and Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, accompanied by Prof. Abo al-Yazid Salamah, Director-General of Holy Quran Affairs and researcher at the Council of Senior Scholars, participated in the closing ceremony of the Holy Quran Competition in the village of Msheiref, Menoufia Governorate. He honored the winners of the top positions in various competition categories, following an invitation from Prof. Ali Mohammad Mahdi, Professor of Jurisprudence at the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Cairo and Secretary of the Commission.
Notably, the Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars stated, “May Allah preserve Egypt and al-Azhar for their dedication to preserving the Book of Allah Almighty. Egypt is the country of the Holy Quran, and from it emerged the giants of recitation. Allah Almighty has honored the people of the Quran by distinguishing them with His words of reverence and esteem. They are the people of Allah and His chosen ones, and on the Day of Resurrection, they will be on pulpits of light alongside the prophets, the righteous, the martyrs, and the devout.”
Moreover, His Eminence congratulated the honorees and their parents on their efforts and notable achievement in memorizing the Book of Allah Almighty. He encouraged them to continue striving and to put even more effort into studying the Holy Quran.
For his part, Prof. Abu al-Yazid Salamah, Director-General of Holy Quran Affairs, emphasized al-Azhar’s commitment to attending all events that honor the memorizers of the Book of Allah across the country. This dedication aims to nurture generations who will carry the message of Islam to the entire world. He added, “These numerous gatherings for memorizing the Holy Quran throughout the country reaffirm that Egypt, with its esteemed al-Azhar, will always remain the stronghold of Islam, the steadfast defense against its enemies, and the true reference for moderation and balance.”
