Al-Azhar Deputy, Member of al-Azhar Graduates, Offers His Condolences on the Late Malaysian Prime Minister at the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo

Prof. Mohammad ad-Duwini, the Grand Imam’s Deputy and Member of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, offered his condolences on the Late Malaysian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who passed away at the age of 85, at the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo.

The Deputy’s visit came as an expression of the al-Azhar Institution’s solidarity with the Malaysian people and their leaderships. During the visit, he conveyed the condolences of Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam, as well as al-Azhar leaders and scholars. Prof. ad-Duwini underlined the great historical status of the late Prime Minister and the role he played in enhancing the Egyptian-Malaysian relationships, especially supporting interfaith and inter-civilizational dialogue.

On its part, the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo praised the visit which comes within the framework of strengthening the bilateral relations. The Embassy expressed its appreciation for the Grand Imam of al-Azhar and the role he plays in supporting the values of peace and human solidarity.
