
The branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Nigeria held a lecture entitled “Moderation in Behavior and Human Relations” at the preparatory school in Gony Demgari, Borno State, Nigeria. During the lecture, Ishaq Mohammad Mostafa, a member of the organization’s branch in Borno, highlighted the importance of moderation as a way of life for every Muslim. He addressed several key themes, including the definition and general concept of moderation, both linguistically and terminologically, as well as its significance in Islamic law, supported by verses from the Quran and Hadiths.
He pointed out that manifestations of moderation in behavior include balance in spending, worship, and daily activities; moderation in human relations such as love and hate, interpersonal treatment, and social interaction. Furthermore, he explained the impact of moderation on both the individual and society, highlighting its role in promoting psychological stability and social harmony. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of fostering values of mutual understanding, calling for the continuation of such awareness-raising activities in schools and educational institutions, as well as organizing a series of lectures focused on moral values in Islam.
