The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch in Mali convened a seminar under the title of “Moderation in Behavior and Human Relations”, at al-Noor Mosque in Bamako. The seminar was given by Mariam Ismail Gaby, member of Mali branch, who explained the Islamic concept of moderation in behavior and its role in building human relationships among citizens.
The lecturer underlined that moderation in behavior is a religious obligation, virtue and necessity; indeed, it is the best and most beneficial approach for people. She added that moderation is Allah’s chosen path for this nation to disseminate peace, security, stability, trust, reassurance and empathy among citizens. She affirmed as well that Islam is a religion of moderation, justice, mercy and tolerance, stressing that Islam neither urges extremism and intolerance against others, nor compulsion and terrorism. Additionally, Islam calls for the oneness of Allah with wisdom and fair exhortation, as it is the easiest and simplest religion ever, far from severity and cruelty.
The lecturer stressed the necessity of delivering the message of benevolence and peace urged by Islam in all stages, as Islam is the religion that considers the human nature. Indeed, moderation is one of the most important features of the Islamic approach, however, fanaticism and extremism have distanced some form understanding the true essence of Islam.
