Al-Azhar al-Sharif’s pavilion at the 57th Cairo International Book Fair presents to its visitors the book “Statements by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on Gaza,” which embodies the intellectual and humanitarian epic of steadfastness in the face of the Zionist war machine, documenting the stance of the largest religious institution in the Islamic world regarding the genocide war since its outbreak on October 7, to be a voice for the voiceless.
The book narrates glimpses of al-Azhar al-Sharif’s epic support for the Palestinian cause through presenting the statements issued by al-Azhar al-Sharif during the period from October 7 until December 3, 2023—the period that witnessed the outbreak of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip and the ignition of genocide fires against the defenseless Palestinian people, a genocide that al-Azhar al-Sharif condemned in the strongest terms, calling on the international community more than once to assume its responsibilities toward confronting the aggressor and supporting the oppressed.
Out of al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism’s keenness to convey al-Azhar al-Sharif’s message and its historical commitment to the Palestinian cause to the world, this book was issued containing al-Azhar’s statements in twelve languages, to present to the world al-Azhar al-Sharif’s position on this brutal aggression and its standing alongside truth in the face of injustice and aggression.
Al-Azhar al-Sharif is participating—for the tenth consecutive year—with a special pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair in its 57th edition, stemming from al-Azhar’s educational and preaching responsibility in spreading the moderate, enlightened Islamic thought that it has adopted for over a thousand years.
Al-Azhar’s pavilion at the fair is located in Heritage Hall No. 4 and extends over an area of about one thousand square meters, including several sections such as: a seminar hall, a fatwa corner, an Arabic calligraphy corner, as well as a children’s corner and manuscripts section.
