Member of the Organization in Benin, During Lecture on Concept of Guardianship and Responsibility: Nations Only Rise through Integration of Roles and Commitment to Ethics and Values

Adegoma Ishaaq, a member of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates branch in Benin, delivered a lecture entitled “All of you are guardians” in the city of Porto-Novo, attended by approximately 35 participants.

During the lecture, Ishaaq pointed out that all people have matters entrusted to them, which they oversee and manage, and for which they will be held accountable before Allah Almighty. He emphasized that every individual is a guardian and responsible for those under their care, adding that excellence in fulfilling this trust leaves a profound impact on society and earns its bearer great reward and easy reckoning with Allah, while negligence leads to harm to the nation and the individual bearing its consequences on the Day of Judgment.

In addition, he explained that the Prophet (PBUH) directed Muslims to the necessity of fulfilling the right of caring for people in matters of their religion and worldly affairs and deterring them from what harms them, to achieve the objectives of Shariah in reform and care.

The lecture also addressed historical and Islamic examples of bearing responsibility, clarifying that the concept of ‘guardianship’ is not limited to positions and major responsibilities but extends to include family, work, and society, and that nations only rise through the integration of roles and commitment to ethics and values. In conclusion, Ishaaq called for strengthening the culture of trust and duty among youth, as they are the cornerstone in building the future of society.
