Grand Imam Chairs the Meeting of Al-Azhar Graduates’ Board of Directors and Agrees to Open Two Branches in Nigeria

The Grand Imam of al-Azhar and the Chairman of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayyeb, emphasized the necessity of providing full support to the Organization’s branches abroad, for they play an instructive role aiming to connect all Azharis around the world. Furthermore, the Grand Imam stressed the importance of raising awareness of Muslims and the next generations about the moderation of Islam and denouncing all forms of violence and extremism.

This came during the board of directors of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, headed by the Grand Imam to discuss some issues.

It is worth mentioning that the board of directors agreed to open two new branches of the Organization in Nigeria. In addition, they decided to name the great hall of the Sheikh Zayed Center for Teaching Arabic to non-Natives after the name of the late Prof. Abdul Fadeel al-Qousy, Member of Al-Azhar’s Council of Senior Scholars and former Vice-Chairman of the Organization.

The board of directors was attended by Prof. al-Dweeny, Deputy of al-Azhar, Prof. al-Mahrasawy, President of al-Azhar University and Vice-Chairman of the Organization, Osama Yaseen, Vice-Chairman of the Organization, Prof. Abdul Dayyem Nosseir, Secretary-General of the Organization and Advisor of the Grand Imam, Prof. Nazir Ayyad, Secretary-General of Islamic Research Academy, Prof. Nahla al-Haraky, Member of the board of directors and Ahmad at-Tony, Head of Legal Affairs of the Organization.
