Al-Azhar Graduates in Benin Warns Youth of Being Trapped in Extremism

The Branch of the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Benin, under construction, held a lecture for a group of young people to demonstrate what some extremist groups do to manipulate the minds of youth to join them. This came under the efforts of the Organization to immune young people from engaging within the extremist groups.
It is worth mentioning that Yahia Nazir, Head of Benin’s branch –under construction- said that these extremist groups spread distorted notions that have nothing to do with our true religion’s teachings. He added that these notions seek to demolish civilizations and communities and diffuse poisonous thoughts.
Furthermore, the Head of Benin’s branch stressed that the extremist groups have to be confronted at all levels and urged to create a current that opposes these groups’ ideas and identity to deter and defeat them as the Islamic religion calls to spread and uphold values such as harmony, love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
In conclusion, the Head of Benin’s branch warned young people of the threat of terrorism and getting trapped in extremism and urged them to stick to the moderate Azhari approach away from violence and extremism.
