The Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for International Students, al-Azhar University, aims to teach the legal and Islamic sciences according to Al-Azhar Curriculum. The Supreme Council of al-Azhar, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Professor Ahmad at-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, may Allah protect him, has approved the implementation of the E-Learning Program for the study of Islamic and Arabic studies.

This program is under the internal regulations of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for international students. The E-Learning Program of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies Al-Azhar University for International Students is organized and managed by the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates from a technical standpoint, in cooperation with Al-Azhar University. The E-Learning Program of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies Al-Azhar University aims to teach the Islamic sciences and Arabic studies curriculum to students from all over the world, the same curriculum taught at the university (direct education), without requiring them to bear the burden of attending, traveling, and residing in Egypt.

Establishing the E-Learning Program of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies at Al-Azhar University required advanced technical equipment, software, and the presence of experienced technical staff alongside the university’s academic faculty members. These faculty members participate in the preparation and continuous development of the curriculum, the enhancement of teaching methods, and the development of evaluation techniques. Additionally, personnel are involved in the implementation and broadcasting over the Internet.

Thus, the program that has been implemented and is currently available for study is the program of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for International Students at al-Azhar University.

Conditions for enrollment and admission to the program:

  1.  The applicant must have obtained:
  2. Al-Azhar Secondary Certificate, or certificate offered by al-Azhar Secondary Institutes for

Muslim Envoys (Bu’outh), or its equivalent.

  • Egyptian General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent from other countries.
  • The qualified educational certificate for university admission in the applicant’s country is

valid for acceptance into the program.

  •  University graduates eligible for higher education in their countries can apply and be accepted into the program.
  •  The student must hold a foreign nationality (non-Egyptian)
  •  The student must be a Muslim of good conduct.
  •  Proficiency in the Arabic language.

How can I apply to the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for International Students while I am in another country?

1st stage: Online registration: 

The student fills out the program application form electronically, and then a new page appears for him to verify the correctness of the data he entered.

2nd stage:  Verification of the student’s e-mail:

Upon completing the application form, the applicant will immediately receive an email notification to their registered email address. This email will include their username and password, allowing them to access their program dashboard.

3rd stage: Uploading the required document copies on the website and paying the registration fees:

  • The student must upload the required documents for application through the applicants’

portal, which are as follows:

  • The student’s academic certificate “copy”.
  • Passport “copy”.
  • The Arabic language proficiency if available (for non-Arabic speakers) “copy”
  • The registration fee, which is $50, is paid once during registration via the student’s

webpage using electronic payment.

4th stage:  Reviewing the submitted Application:

The program’s enrollment and registration committee reviews applications within forty days of submitting the required documents. Applicants are notified via email of acceptance or rejection and informed of the Committee’s decision regarding their status in the program.

In case of acceptance, applicants will be notified through the applicants’ portal and via the program’s e-mail address reg.office@azharegypt.edu.eg. The applicant will be required to submit the necessary documents and complete the required procedures for the registration process (link to required documents).

5th Stage: Submitting the Originals of the Required Documents:

The required documents, which should be sent via Premium Express Mail, are as follows:

  • The original certificate the student applied, attested, and authenticated by the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate in his/her country.
  • A copy of the student’s valid passport.
  • (4) Recent color photos, size 4×6, with the student’s name written on the back.
  • The pledge form to enroll in the E-Learning Program is printed from the official website of E-Learning.
  • The dispatch number slip of the Express Mail through which the originals of the authenticated documents are sent.
  • The dispatch form of the admission documents (to be printed from the E-Learning official website after the admission results are announced).
  • The original copy of the bank deposit receipt of the tuition fees (stamped).

6th stage: Courses Registration:

 As a prelude to joining for study, the student must register in some courses of his/her own choice, noting that each level requires registration in at least (5) courses, as the system will request the student to register his/her selected courses to be studied in the first level of his/her academic study at the university.

What is the Study System?

The study system of the E-Learning Program is Credit Hours

The study in the E-Learning Program of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies at Al-Azhar University consists of 8 levels, and each level includes 10 academic courses. Each course is backed by scientific texts prepared, checked, and revised by an elite of al-Azhar scholars and professors, powered by relevant multimedia audios, videos, and educational enrichment, all as per the latest instructional design systems and technical capabilities. This is to enable the display of the academic content in a variety of ways and relevant forms to suit all students, taking into consideration individual differences during the learning processes.

What are the Tuition Fees?

The tuition fee for each academic year is 1500$ (USD) plus 50$ (USD) to be paid once upon enrollment. It should be noted that each academic year includes two levels, and each level consists of 10 academic courses.

In case the student selects some courses, the fees will be as follows:

Fees (tuition fees) shall be paid as per the number of academic courses the student will register in, either by e-payment via the student’s page on the e-learning program or bank transfer.

What Certificate will I obtain after passing all the academic levels?

After passing the (8) educational levels, the student earns a bachelor’s Degree in Islamic and Arabic Sciences for International Students via E-Learning.

The Faculty of Islamic Sciences for International Students, al-Azhar University, issued and authenticated the certificate.
