“Women Leaders Around the World” Course Launched under “Imam at-Tayyeb” Scholarship

The opening activities of “Women Leaders Around the World” course have begun, under “Imam at-Tayyeb Scholarship”, as part of the International Program for Preparing Women Leaders Around the World. The course is jointly organized by the World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates, the College of Islamic Sciences for International Students and Arkan Foundation for Sustainable Development.

The scholarship aims to prepare and qualify international women leaders studying in Egypt and to refine their leadership, intellectual and preaching skills through an integrated training and academic program. The program contributes to consolidating the values of moderation and awareness, strengthening the role of women in building societies and achieving the sustainable development goals.

The program embodies the global role played by al-Azhar ash-Sharif in building the human being and supporting intellectual and humanitarian empowerment. It thereby helps in equipping the participants to play active roles in their communities and to put to use the knowledge and skills they acquire once they return to their home countries.

The participants were selected on the basis of oral and written examinations held last month, with the participation of the deans of the relevant Azhari faculties, out of a commitment to choosing the candidates, best prepared to benefit from the program and achieve its objectives.

The course opened with a lecture by Prof. Nahla Al-Sa’idi, Dean of the College for International Students and Advisor of the Grand Imam for International Students’ Affairs, in the presence of Mr. Ahmad Abu Shouk, Secretary-General of Arkan Foundation for Sustainable Development. The project drew strong interest from the students who applied for the examinations and earned the praise of many officials working in the field of sustainable development.

Prof. Nahla Al-Sa’idi and Mr. Ahmad Abu Shouk stressed the importance of investing in women’s capabilities, developing their skills and providing training opportunities that help in producing qualified women leaders capable of participating effectively in various fields, thereby enhancing their contribution to serving their communities and supporting development paths.
