Lecture by al-Azhar Graduates in Central Africa Highlights Role of Emotion in Prophet’s Life

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates in Central Africa held a “The Role of Emotion in the Life of the Prophet (PBUH)” at Noor al-Huda Mosque in the capital Bangui. Mr. Ahmed Hamid Asoula, the branch president, delivered the lecture, noting that emotion is an important part of human personality and one of the key general characteristics of Islam that should be nurtured and guided. During his speech, he emphasized that the new generation is the hope and strength of the Islamic nation, and we must do our utmost to save them from extremism and fanaticism and prevent them from falling into the traps of extremists and hardliners.

He emphasized that Islam nurtures both the rational and emotional aspects of human beings, and that relationships in the universe are framed by love from the Islamic perspective. He explained that divine glory in the Holy Quran is coupled with mercy and we clearly find in the Prophet’s biography the most magnificent manifestation of these truths: (Truth – Justice – Love – Mercy), making the Prophet (PBUH) truly the one who perfected noble character traits and was a mercy sent to humanity.

Furthermore, he added, “Undoubtedly, the Prophet (PBUH) was a unique social leader who established his presence in Meccan society. His behavior profoundly impacted society, as he felt responsible towards those around him and worked to spread justice, equality, support for the oppressed, and peace among people.”
