Al-Azhar ash-Sharif extends its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Republic of Indonesia, leadership and people, and to the families of the victims of the violent earthquake that struck several areas in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, resulting in the deaths of dozens of victims and injuries, and the displacement of thousands of citizens from their homes.
Al-Azhar expresses its full solidarity with the Indonesian people in this painful calamity, praying to Allah Almighty to envelop the victims in His vast mercy and forgiveness, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, to grant success to the efforts of the rescue and relief teams and the Indonesian authorities in searching for the missing and saving those affected, and to protect Indonesia and its people from all harm and misfortune.
